Ports Authority Tonga is a Public Enterprise.

It operates under the Ports Authority Act 1998, Ports Authority Act 2010 and Public Enterprises Act 2002, for the purpose of managing and operating the ports and all its assets and shall have all the powers conferred by this Act to keep Tonga's ports safe for shipping, secure for stakeholders and partners, and to protect port environments.
