Ports Authority Tonga won the Best 2013 Website

17 December, 2013 | The Ministry of Public Enterprises’ 2013 Directors Forum and Special Public Enterprises Award named the Tonga’s Ports Authority Tonga (PAT) as the top public enterprise to win ‘Best Web Presence’ and ‘Best Website of the Year’. The Ports Authority Tonga Website www.portsauthoritytonga.com was being assessed against 15 other websites of the Public Enterprises.

The Ports Authority Tonga General Manager; Mr. Mosese Lavemai and The Chairman; Mr. Steve Edwards.

The other Public Enterprises with notable mentions were awarded to the Tonga Development Bank; www.tdb.to , Tonga Cable Limited; www.tongacable.net and the Friendly Islands Shipping Agency; www.fisa.to.

The Ports Authority Tonga, General Manager; Mr. Mosese Lavemai received the award at the Public Enterprises Award night from the Lady Tuna Fielakepa, the Guest of Honour of the occasion.

In his remarks, the General Manager thanked the Minister for Public Enterprises – Hon. Fe'ao Vakata and his Ministry’s team for the great efforts for the 2013 Award event.

The General Manager also “thanked the Boards of Directors of the Ports Authority for their support and with special thanks and acknowledgements to the PAT IT Systems Officer and Web Developer, Mr. Talanoa Langi and Unit supervisor, Mr. ‘Alo Maileseni for the hard work, dedication and great efforts that PAT achieved the award tonight.” PAT Web Developer and Administrator, Mr. Talanoa Langi was also responsible for the development of the website for runner-up public enterprise, Friendly Islands Shipping Agency, www.fisa.to

And “he wished all the public enterprises and the guests of the award night a Merry Xmas and a Happy New Year with successful years to come.

The two-day workshop hosted by the Ministry of Public Enterprises was from Mon. 16th-Tues. 17th of December, where directors, chief executives and Board members from more than 15 Public Enterprises came together to meet under the theme: "Public Enterprises Business is our Business "

The workshop wrap-up with a 2013 Award - the first ever-recognition of the work and efforts of the Public Enterprises of Government.
