Today the Ports Authority Tonga Board Chairman, Stephen Edwards commissioning the first ever band new 1.2 million KALMAR Rechstackers 46tonnes machine at the Queen Salote Wharf today Friday 11, December, 2015.
According to the Chairman of the Board speech, he highlighted that this is the first time that Ports Authority Tonga purchases a brand new machine ever for it services due to it financial capability, but today Ports Authority solely investing on this machine to achieve our goals in coming years.
As the CEO, Mosese Lavemai comments during his speech at the event, he highlights that the financial year 2014-15 is the most outstanding year for PAT revenue as staffs were benefit by increasing their salaries, payed dividend of 1million to the Government and this new machine today is one of the benefits.
This new KALMAR rechstackers machine have more capabilities then the current 2 reachstacker and it out from the market already and it hard to get it spare parts these days.
Kalmar reachstackers machine are designed to help operations and business for container handling with innovative cargo handling technology with high performance throughout the entire operating cycle, user-friendly operation, low running costs and excellent environmental performance.
The event was started with a prayer by Pastor Fanueli Mataele from Seventh Days Advantist Church, followed by CEO, Mosese Lavemai speech and concluded with the Board Chairman highlighted the achievements of the last Financial Year 2014-15.
