MARICO Maritime NZ Ltd. followed up vessel locator system

The Director of MARICO Marine NZ Ltd, Mr. John Riding was in Tonga on 20 March 2014 to follow-up on the progress of the project to upgrade new decoder box for the terrestrial Automatic Identification System(AIS) reception in the Kingdom.

 This is the second time that Mr. Riding visits Tonga, with a colleagues from MARICO.

The General Manager of the Ports Authority Tonga, Mr.  Mosese Lavemai said that this is an opportunity for Tonga to use this technology and experience the services that offered by the MARICO Marine NZ Ltd.

“We can now better monitor the vessels in Tonga area to Cook Island, with this new upgrade GPS radar system that can monitor vessels at sea and we are so thankful to Mr. John Riding and the MARICO Marine NZ Ltd. for selected Tonga to be the first country in the region to have this technology,” he commented.

Last year, John Riding was in Tonga on 27 November with the former Acting Chief Executive of Tonga Power Ltd. and Ports Authority Tonga, Mr. David Wright, during the installation of the system at the Ports Authority Head Office.
